you have bewitched me, body and soul.

Dear Netflix,
You have been saying that Donnie Darko is "coming soon" to instant play for at least 2 months now. Because of this update I removed it from the top of my normal queue, and still to my dismay.. no Donnie Darko. Now, I know that as soon as I put it back at the top and have it sent to me that you will make it possible to stream and that I will be frustrated for having something sent to me that I have access to elsewhere. Netflix, I'm a big movie watcher and I enjoy your services, but you are sort of ticking me off these days.

Sincerely,
Andrea

the way you move ain't fair, you know.

I'm trying to do homework and it's not working, hurrah for my stereotypical teen procrastination problem. I'm hoping this goes away when I turn into a mature adult this summer - turn 20. Today I watched both Rumble Fish and The Black Dahlia. It was homework! I swear. The movie watching part of my homework is easy, it's the actual writing. I can do film reviews, sure. But a 6 page analysis of a directors style? Ughhhh.. Not all directors have a distinct style like Tim Burton, Quentin Tarantino, Guy Ritchie and Terry Gilliam. Some just direct movies that are nice to watch.

I was just reading a strain on facebook and I just had to roll my eyes. It was about making dirty jokes and one person said something along the lines, "it's sunday, we should not make dirty jokes." On the one hand it's like, "yeah.. keep your religious beliefs to yourself" but you wouldn't believe the amount of Christian bashing that went on after that. I saw so many people say, "fucking Christians, when are you going to realize that God isn't real and that no ones wants to hear what you have to say." It was just so, ugghhh. I hate Hippocrates more than anything, and the fact that they were giving Christians all this shit for "forcing their religion" on everyone when they were just doing the exact same thing only in an incredibly rude manner was just annoying as hell.

Speaking of religion, the other day my friend was trying to convert me and he brought up an interesting point, I'll see if I can word it the way he did. According to the Christian faith, if you don't believe in God and follow him then you are going to hell. With that in mind, if you are a Christian and you know someone who is not, then, according to you, they are going to hell and if you don't try to stop them from this horrible fate than not only are you a horrible person but not a good Christian either. So with that in mind, when someone of the Christian faith tries to get you to believe in God it's an act of both faith and friendship because they love you and don't want to see you burn. It was interesting. Still agnostic though. At least when Christians try to evangelize to you they do it out of love instead of malice.

I don't really have a purpose with this post, just a few things that I wanted to rant about a little bit. I wish I had something fun to write about.. Let's see, I went on a date last night and it was sufficiently awkward. He likes country music, classic rock and his favorite film is Braveheart. Just my type, not. Maybe I'm too quick to judge, he's really very nice and he's kind of adorable.. so we'll see.

I just sneezed in tempo with the song I'm listening to right now :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day I suppose. I don't have any really big plans for the evening. I got laid on both 4th of July and New Years Eve, so I had my fingers crossed for tonight.. but no such luck is mine. Oh well, it was only a passing thought. I'm just kidding.. by the way.

I would really like for to have a new ukulele; soprano style. I love my tenor, but little ukuleles are much easier to make chords with for my little fingers. Lanakai, perferably. I played one once, and it had a really nice sound to it. Mmm.

you and me could really exist

I was up until 5 in the morning watching movies last night. After a not-so-great weekend and a somewhat awkward encounter, the details of which I will absolutely not go into, I found myself unable to sleep. Stand By Me, Penelope, and Gossip were the features, none of them - with the exception of Stand By Me - were that great. Penelope was cute, had a good cast, nice cinematography and I loved the costumes but otherwise is was just a fairytale chick flick and we all know how hard those are to come by. Gossip is difficult to sum up, there was nothing really wrong with it, but there was nothing spectacular about it either. Nice cast though; James Marsden, Kate Hudson, Lena Headey and Norman Reedus.

I had a customer yell at me over the phone at work this weekend as well. That wasn't exactly a pleasant experience. My GM came over and asked me to put them on hold for a moment and when I asked her she said, "FUCK IT! IF YOU'RE GOING TO PUT OTHER CUSTOMERS BEFORE ME THEN I'M NOT GOING TO WASTE MY FUCKING TIME ON THIS SHIT-HOLE RESTAURANT ANYMORE. *click" I must say, that caught me off-guard a little tiny bit. As if that wasn't enough, she came in the restaurant demanding to talk to the "bitch" on the phone so she could yell at me some more. Fortunately, Mr. Manager intercepted because the woman was obviously crazy and he and I both knew that I had done nothing wrong.

I've been delving into Charlotte Bronte's Villette as of late as well, I almost think it's better than Jane Eyre, though not nearly as talked about. I can't imagine why though, Lucy Snowe is not nearly as righteous as Jane. Don't get me wrong, Jane Eyre is one of my all time favorite books, I just wonder why it has so much more popularity surrounding it than Villette.

See
It was like this when
we waltz into this place
a couple of Papish cats
is doing the Aztec two-step
And I says
Dad let's cut
but then this dame
comes up behind me see
and says
You and me could really exist
Wow I says
Only the next morning
she has bad teeth
and really hates
poetry.

Ugghhh! What a rip off! Avatar won best cinematography. That's bull shit. It's a high tech animated movie, the cinematography was computer generated. Thank God it didn't win best picture.. then I would have to flip a bitch, literally.

and your loveliness, no, it doesn't help.

He's in my house. Bobby, that is. I know.. it's been a while since I've mentioned him, but it's been a while since I've seen him. After our little tryst on New Years Eve a whole month went by and then I just walked into my brothers apartment one day and there he was on the couch. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, he is afterall my brothers' friend. And now, yet another month later, he's at my house to see my other brother. I'm probably only getting worked up because of what time it is. When you come home at 2 in the morning, you don't expect to see the people who make your insides curl. That is not necessarily a bad thing..or a good one. It's just a fact. Now I can hear them in the other room, but I'm too much of a chicken to go out there. I'm not invited anyway, they're playing World of Warcraft of something stupid like that. I'd be the annoying younger sister who is just staring at the cute friend, or the lover who expects more after a one-night-stand.. Or worse, both.

don't you be wasting all your money on syrup and honey because I'm sweet enough

Well, its 1:00 am and I'm up writing a 4-6 page paper. It's a small paper, sure, but I haven't had to do that in quite a while. Movie classes usually don't ask you to write papers. Reviews, sure.. but those are like.. a paragraph, not 4 pages. This one came out of nowhere and then I forgot about it. Typical. I forgot what it was like to be stressed out from falling behind in class, perhaps the field I'm venturing into is too easy :P I'm totally just kidding. I love the movies.

Friday and Saturday we're shooting a black and white noir film on 16mm; I'm pretty excited about that. The other day we practiced actually loading the magazine and the camera itself with some exposed film so that we could get the hang of it, but there's going to be so much pressure when we're working with the stuff we'll actually be using. I'm nervous.. the camera is so heavy and awkward, I can't imagine that this movie is going to turn out that spectacular. It's a dinosaur of a camera too, a news camera from the 50's or something.. it weighs about 60 pounds and when you look through the lens, the view is crooked, but if you make it straight, the camera is crooked.. It doesn't make sense.

I changed my hair. I'm not going to tell you about it though, you'll just have to see it and tell me how much you don't like it. I don't care. I love it, and that's what's important. I'll say one thing, it's short. I have had lots of guys tell me, "don't cut your hair.. I like girls with long hair.." but to be honest, I don't really care what you like. It's about what I like. When someone comes along that thinks I look beautiful the way I am instead of me trying to fit myself into the model of what guys like, then it will be better for everyone involved. So if you don't like it, fine, but I'm not going to change it unless I want to. My physical appearance projects my personality, and I control it. I'm sort of rambling now, I don't know what else to write about. I'm kind of just avoiding the homework I mentioned at the beginning of this post.
